Catherine Phipps Titcombe

My ceramic sculpture derives from an appreciation of the natural environment and experimentation with clay compositions. I'm committed to using more sustainable methods of working taking into account environmental concerns. I completed an MA Ceramics in June 2010: this work represented my interpretation of cycles of change, how nature and manmade objects impact on each other. I created mixed media ceramics in an unconventional way by transforming and reinventing discarded materials giving them a new life, each with a unique architectural aesthetic. Each of the sculptures (29cms tall) relate to each other having a modular design flexibility governed by the importance of space.
