The Northern Potters Association (NPA) was formed in
October 1977, with its first exhibition taking place at the
Shipley Gallery in Gateshead in August / September 1978.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in ceramics - students, hobbyists, professional ceramists, gallery owners and collectors, and we currently have 340+ members.
Although we draw mainly from the north of England we do not apply
any geographical restrictions, and have members in Scotland, Wales
and mainland Europe.
NEWSLETTER
We publish a two monthly newsletter which encourages members to exchange technical information, advertise events and exhibitions, and offer a forum for further discussion on any topic related to ceramics. A small ads section, free to members, allows the sale or exchange of unwanted equipment and materials, and may provide that bargain purchase you had been looking for.
EVENTS
Lectures, demonstrations and workshops provide a chance to learn first hand from some of the top ceramic artists practicing
today. NPA uses a number of venues across the area to enable members to participate in the activities.
