The Clay is Always Right.
I work in high fired clay to make sculpture and my work is influenced by my life experience which, of course, includes the natural world,
though people and thought come into it as well.
I don’t ask: is my work beautiful? I ask: does it have presence? Does it ask questions? Does it challenge my taste and opinion? This
wide-open approach means that I experiment with process and form a great deal.
