Chris Timms (Milford Pots)
Having spent my career in Arts and Education, I’m now back to sculpting clay
and embracing a varied style to exploit its natural spontaneous qualities with
a little creative chaos. I make individual pieces using the wheel, my hands,
and whatever else I can find to form my ideas, sometimes with purpose, often
with surprise. I mainly work with clay mixed with grog, a rough sand that adds
texture and interest. My palette is minimal, because the clay is the star. My
goal is to make pots with character, perfectly imperfect pieces that are meant
to be loved, touched, and used.
