Vanic, Sarah

Working with clay is a way of life for me and I’m hopeful that it will be with me until I can no longer move the stuff around. The touch of clay is unique and fostered a career path in the field of art therapy and mental health. My vocation is a therapeutic and artistic one which enables me to create a space for others to find their way to feeling better. I suspect that I also become a better person along the way too.

Now in 2020, I have chosen to embark on another career development and focus on making tableware with speckled clay and white glaze with resist patterning and wall relief sculptures using mixed clays, differing firing temperatures, and earthenware to stoneware glazing techniques. You will find me at fairs, festivals, events, and exhibitions under the banner of Chupinka Pottery.
