Emma Williams
I make hand-built decorative ceramic forms for the interior in stoneware and earthenware clays, using press-moulding, pinching and coiling methods.
Inspiration for my simple vessel forms comes from a myriad of influences from the natural world including rocks and minerals, birds' eggs, and aged, weathered surfaces.
I dip, pour and brush on a variety of slips and glazes to achieve a range of intense colours and tactile textures and fire the work at 1050°C in an electric kiln.
