'Survival' is the basis of most of my work since 2006. Having witnessed the aftermath of war and cataclysm, I am feel passionately about the human spirit's ability to survive, aspire and overcome. I hand build pieces in stoneware clay using different techniques, but mostly slabs and use texture, patina, carving and some addition of mixed media. The pieces are multi-fired at varying temperatures in an electric kiln to obtain the desired result. My most recent work concerns 'Stories and Secrets': ceramic books and boxes taking as a point of departure issues around the human condition in Persian society, past and present.
