NPA Potters Camp & AGM

This years Northern Potters Association Potters Camp and AGM is planned to be held at the fantastic venue of The North Light Gallery at Armitage Bridge, between Holmfirth and Huddersfield.

Planning is going well so please keep an eye out for further information and updates in the magazine, e-newsletter and the website.

A team has been assembled to organise this years event, but we are always looking for more members to join in and help. If you fancy being involved, or have any thoughts or ideas please contact the committee at vice-chair@northern-potters.co.uk.

Tickets

£20.00 for NPA members (Go to your LoveAdmin membership portal and book via ‘events’)

£40.00 for non-members (Eventbrite.co.uk – search – Northern Potters Association)

Mug swap – Bring a mug and swap it for someone else’s as a group fun event. Bring a mug in any event for teas and coffee.

This years Joan Hardie Award theme is ‘Inspired by Film’. Please bring along a piece of work and enter this fun ‘competition’

We are still looking for ideas for short (30-45 minute workshops).

We’ll post up more information about participating speakers etc as and when we have some.

Currently speakers booked are :-

Jonathon Jolly-Vanderhayden from the last series of The Great Pottery Throwdown

Jim Robison, Demonstration of large garden pottery (but subject may alter).

Workshop – Joe Small – Screw topped vessels.

Workshop – Lorna Gilbert – Morning wheel throwing, an introduction.

Workshop – Lorna Gilbert – Afternoon wheel throwing challenge, tallest vessel.

Workshop – Gerry Grant – Sprig moulds

Workshop – Nadine Blakemore – Nerikomi ware.

Workshop – Jo Blaker – Brush making with natural components.

Workshop – Becca Brown – Monochrome printing and watercolours.

Workshop – Tiffany Prescot – Slab built cones.

‘Waste not want not’ – Bring along your excess or unwanted tools, materials and books and exchange or to gift them to other potters.

Help Desk – Wendy Wall – LoveAdmin and membership.

Ideas board – 2027 is the 50th anniversary of the NPA. How do members want to celebrate this?

We will also be holding the association’s annual general meeting at this event.
