SWNPA Region is organising a Pit firing Camp hosted by Rachel and Simon Harding at their wonderful woods in Tarvin, near Chester.
This will be a great opportunity to take part in the rather primeval event of a ‘proper’ pit firing, with each member preparing their own pots for the pit – lots of organic materials and saggars. Then it’s burn, baby, burn!
For those who want the full experience of feeding the flames there is overnight camping available. Members need to bring their own tents/campervans etc. Others can go home to their own beds and return early in the morning to discover what the fire has produced.
We’ll be having an evening barbeque and members are encouraged to bring along food and drink to make it a proper feast.
There are composting loos on site, but it is a woodland so everything is very back to nature. No pets.
