Rachel Lee trained in Fine Art and has worked in West Yorkshire as a Community Artist for the last 20 years. Her work in ceramics is figurative, exploring what it is like to be human and vulnerable; to dream of being an angel, an acrobat or alone. These works are influenced by people’s stories, tarot, myth and circus, filtered through an objective observation of the human form. Using raku and other low temperature firings this often results in an installation of multiple pieces. Other work in ceramics is with Community groups, including the creation of sculptural outdoor kilns.
