Clark, Shaun

I am a North Nottinghamshire based artist, making highly decorative domestic earthenware.  My work is influenced by renaissance ceramics, majolica, slipware, country ware and everything in between.

I originally trained in Industrial design in Stoke on Trent before studying Studio ceramics in Cardiff and combine both disciplines in my work.

Most of my ware is slip cast, some slab formed, some thrown and turned. Everything is hand decorated and occasionally stamped and sprigged.

Having worked in the museums’ service I also dabble in Roman, Viking and Medieval pottery making and re-enactment.

From my workshop at the bottom of the garden, I supply a number of small shops and galleries and attend local agricultural fairs and heritage events throughout the summer. I also teach, visiting schools and run various courses.
