Informed by my background as an art psychotherapist my work with clay often responds to the messy, conflicted nature of being human, and the embodied tension when under stress between vulnerability, fragility, strength, and resilience. Led by process, artworks come into being through a dialogue with myself as maker, the material, and the flow of forces within the situation. Pieces may emerge in more figurative or abstract forms, as individual artworks or as part of a series, and are sometimes assembled with other materials such as wood, stone, resin, or metal.
