I have no formal qualifications in ceramics, but have been making pots for more than 40 years. Over that time my work has evolved constantly and the process of creating it has continued to fascinate and challenge me. These days my main interest is in the “look and feel” of pots, rather than their function. I work primarily in porcelain and try to make finely thrown forms with carefully considered surfaces. I love the purity of the material and enjoy the technical challenges of working with it. I like “sharp” surface decoration and often contrast glaze and underglaze. I sometimes mount pieces on Perspex blocks to help them “fly”.
