Thorpe, Carolyn

I graduated in June 2014 with a 3d Contemporary Craft degree, I started to specialise in Ceramics in Yr2 and discovered Raku in Yr3. I fell in love with the Spontaneity, excitement and different elements of the Raku process. I make coiled pots predominantly ‘naked raku’. My work and my practice is influenced by the origins of Raku and it’s aesthetics. In my current work decoration is often meditative with abstract brush strokes and marks.
