Wren, Alison

Purity of form, clean lines and visual balance inform my work, which is all thrown on the wheel and fired to stoneware temperature. Carefully ‘drawn’ profiles and attention to proportion are key. The rhythm between the forms interests me, but each piece should stand alone. I use subtly coloured glazes to develop both the relationship between the pieces, and their individual character. As vessels, these pieces are decorative and functional, although I also make specifically functional tableware, with a contemporary yet rustic feel.
