The latest of The Potters Circle on-line talks will be on the subject of applying for selected shows with a focus on photographic submissions. This will be held on line at 7.00pm on Thursday the 26th of March.
Like all the previous ‘Potters Circle’ talks this is FREE to all NPA members. Just sign up via the events page on the NPA website (https://www.norther-potters.co.uk) and go to EVENTS and select BOOK AN NPA EVENT or click here.
These talks are only available to registered NPA members. And any member who books onto the talk can download it at a later date, whether or not you watched it live.
Our next online Potters Circle will be on Thursday, 26th March 2026 at 19:00. The topic will be “Applying to Fairs and Shows with a Focus on Application Forms and Images” and it will be hosted by our very own Wendy Wall.
Here is a bit about the topic from Wendy:
“I wouldn’t claim to be an expert photographer or even a good one. I’m approaching this Potters Circle from the viewpoint of someone who currently sits on the committee for two shows and who was SE coordinator for several years during which time we set up and organised several shows and exhibitions and I ran the SE Instagram account and made posters to advertise events.
It is so frustrating to get pictures with applications that don’t fulfill the criteria for photos asked for in the application. Those few photos are one of the main criteria used to select or reject your application so it’s worth getting it right.
In this Potters Circle I am going to go through a typical application form and talk about the things that applicants do wrong and show you some examples of what you need to do to get it right. I’ll explain the reasons why it’s important and hopefully answer some of your questions.
